These pages offer you insights into the traditional Chinese entertainment form Quyi.Quyi (quyi 曲艺) is the generic term for different arts of Chinese Sprechgesang (shuochang 说唱), like e.g. sketches (xiaopin 小品), bamboo-clappers (kuaiban 快板) or Chinese cabaret (xiangsheng 相声).

Being a German Sinologist René Bernard has been engaging in these performing arts since 2007, especially in Xiangsheng and Kuaiban. Since 2011 he has been deepening his skills and knowledge of Quyi in Beijing and has been performing Quyi under his Chinese name Bai Renrui 柏仁睿 in China.
